About Me

My name is Margot Schuffel and I moved from The Netherlands to the United States seven years ago as an Au pair.  I was curious of what the differences were between the Dutch and the American lifestyles and I couldn't think of a  better way to find out then to explore it myself. Seven years later I learned many things and enjoy every day of this experience.

In my first year I took an Introduction to Television course at Union County College. After this class I knew that I wanted to be a part of the Television Industry. In May 2006 I graduated with an Associate Degree in Public Relations and transferred to Kean University. At this moment I am a senior with a Media and Film major.

My goals for working in the television industry are to be a part of a network or production team that people watch for the elements, characteristics and quality.I would like to work with people who are as passionate as I am and to see my creative ideas become an reality.

Besides being a student, I’m a live-in nanny with the same family I have been with for over seven years. I swim daily, work in the morning and evening with animals and I volunteer weekly for Kean Wednesday Night Group, a program created to interact with mentally challenged adults.

What makes me unique is that I have ability to enjoy many things that this world has to offer. I am not afraid to try anything new and to look outside of the box. I have a positive attitude, leadership qualities, a creative mind and I don’t believe in failing but in trying to make the best out of whatever the situation may bring. I’m a hard worker and I give one hundred percent to whatever the task may be.

With my culturally diverse background I can appreciate and contribute to different points of views .I not only am fluent in Dutch and English, I also can converse freely in German. I improve my skills by researching new topics and staying up to date with daily news through television, radio, newspapers, magazines and the Internet.

I have yet to decide which position I would like to work in. I finished two semesters  of soap opera production class at Kean University. The class gave me a great inside of all the aspects of studio production. I have also been given the chance to work in different positions in  field production. I have become familiar with the studio and hand held cameras, the five point lighting kit, sound, and all positions in the control room.

I like the challenge of working for a live show where quick thinking and handling is a must and the excitement when the show is over knowing you brought a good product to the audience.
